FAQs

WHO AND WHEN CAN PEOPLE JOIN THE PROGRAM? You (including relatives, friends, and colleagues) can join the program **anytime,** even when your child is in elementary school because you can start accumulating money in your family account! You can then begin cashing out your money towards educational expenses as soon as your child(ren) begin attending Forest Hills Eastern in 7th grade.

HOW DOES RAISE RIGHT DO THIS? RaiseRight acts on behalf of churches, schools, and other non‑profit organizations to purchase large amounts of gift cards from grocery stores, department stores, and other retailers at a discounted price. You purchase and receive gift cards at full face value for items you're already purchasing; then RaiseRight passes the additional cash back percentage of your purchase back to your student(s)/family's account.

HOW IS THIS A "FUNDRAISING" PROGRAM? "RaiseRight" is a term for gift card fundraising. However, there's no selling involved — you're simply redirecting spending back to yourself. The Scrip/Raise Right Program has proven to be a simple and effective one to let you fundraise for your own student(s) all year round through shopping, dining, and travel without selling anything.

IS THIS DIFFERENT THAN GIFT CARDS I WOULD BUY AT THE STORE? Nope. When you purchase RaiseRight gift cards from participating retailers, you receive the SAME gift cards you would buy at the store.

WHICH RETAILERS PARTICIPATE?

DO I NEED TO RENEW MY REGISTRATION EVERY YEAR? No. Signing up creates a family account for your entire time at FHE Middle & High School. Yearly renewal isn't required, and registrations from as far back as fall 2005 remain current whether or not you've actively used RaiseRight since.

WHAT IF I HAVE LEFTOVER FUNDS IF MY KIDS GRADUATE OR WE LEAVE THE SCHOOL?   If you raise more revenue than you can use, it may be donated to another student or student group. Otherwise, revenue will default into the RaiseRight Boosters Administrative Fund. Revenue can NEVER be cashed out in literal cash.
